Our Rightful Source!

Jeremiah 17:5, 7, 8 (NIV)
This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Question today – Who do we put our trust and confidence in? In the Lord Jesus Christ or in mere mortal man?
The Almighty God does not mince His Word to us. He makes it very clear that He wants us all as child of God to trust in Him totally and not on mere mortal man. The Lord goes as far as to say that those who put their trust in people will be cursed. It is time to take a reality check in our lives. In our daily lives and decisions, did we trust God or people?
Isaiah 2:22 (NIV) says, 22 Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem? And King David prayed in Psalm 60:11 (NIV), 11 Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless.”
King David knew that only the Living God of Israel, the great “ I AM ” can help him conquer over all his enemies and rule the nation in his days.
And this awesome truth is still applicable to us today. And for those who put their trust in leaders (princes), Psalm 146:3 (NIV) says, Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 above reassures us that those who trust and have confidence in God will not have fear or worry even in the year of drought, because they will always be fresh and bear much fruit.
Our job, business and people around us can be a good thing but God does not want us to make them as our SOURCE. If we trust in them, we may lose them and in the end, we will have no means of support.
We will be very disappointed in the end. On the other hand, if we make God our PROVIDER and our SOURCE, even when we are jobless and experiencing seasons of drought, our daily needs will still be met supernaturally. We can still bear much fruit. It is by the GRACE of God.

We note that doctors are definitely a blessing to us but if we rely only on their limited knowledge and wisdom and leave the GREAT PHYSICIAN out of the picture, it could cost us our health, maybe even our lives.
Parents and spouses too can be wonderful gifts to us in this earthly sojourn but to depend on them for all our needs can be disastrous when they are taken away from us someday.
The GOOD NEWS is that God is WILLING and ABLE to be ALL that we need for LIFE here on earth and for the life beyond. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

If we are seeking for stability and security in this fast changing world, then make our “unchangeable” God the SOURCE of all our needs. Then we can exclaim with the psalmist in Psalm 84:12 (NIV), 12 Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.”
In Hebrews 13:8 (NIV), the Bible says that, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” He is the “unchangeable” God, our rightful SOURCE for everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
And the Apostle Paul wrote about this amazing love of God found in Christ Jesus alone. In Romans 8:38-39 (NIV),38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We are indeed loved by Almighty God. What a great privilege!
The Lord Jesus Christ is our “All in All.”
He is Almighty God, the “GREAT I AM.”
He is “MORE THAN ENOUGH” for us ALL.
Have TRUST and CONFIDENCE in HIM. Amen!
Stay Blessed wherever you are my bros and sis.
