Luke 17:20-21 (KJV)
Now when He (Jesus) was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
The Kingdom of God is found in the person of Jesus Christ, drawing near to His people so that the Kingdom may be advanced through His people. So, the Kingdom is advanced in us before it can be advanced through us.
Jesus Christ in us, the King of Glory, desires to set His throne, His Lordship within our lives as we walk in faith, obedience, and perfect submission to His will for our lives. Everything flows forth from intimacy and relationship with our Lord………and so does the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom comes alive within a person when there is a desire to KNOW their King.
To advance means to move or to bring forward; to accelerate; to further something or someone along; and to simply change position from one point to another point. God is calling us to advance the Kingdom in our midst, to bring Heaven to earth and to line up with God’s promises here and now.
The Kingdom is not (NOT) a stationary point as we look at the verse in Luke above. Jesus is quick to point out that the Kingdom does not come with observation or by constantly chasing what appears to be its manifestation in the earth today by going from one conference or seminar to another without allowing the manifestation of its reality to be REAL in you, to you and through you.
The Kingdom is advancing through a spontaneous Spirit-led group of Kingdom people who are simply responding to heaven’s mandates at any given time. Trusting in the Lord with all that is within us and responding by faith to its dictates and commands…………..that flows from relationship. For how can you advance the Kingdom unless you know your King?
Advancing God’s Kingdom on earth is not about busyness, schedules, programs or agenda, yet it can involve a measure of some of these IF we are led by the Holy Spirit. God is not against being busy or having a schedule as led by His Holy Spirit.
There is divine order in God’s kingdom for without order, nothing is accomplished in God’s plan. We must realize that all our strategy and directive comes from the Secret Place (the place of communion with God).
Remember what Jesus said in John 5:18-21
19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father love the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
Jesus Christ only did what He saw the Father showing and doing. He saw what the Father was doing when He spent extended times of intimacy and fellowship with the Father in the Secret Place.
Simplicity at its finest……………….
This is a time to advance the Kingdom of God in many diverse, creative and unique ways.
Why? For our God is amazing and creative and expresses Himself through a people through whom He desires to manifest the glorious nature of His Son. The Kingdom flows as a mighty organism that is dependent on the direction of Holy Spirit, not a man centered organization dependant on man’s wisdom.
Advancing the Kingdom of God is not an ethereal place that is founded upon theory but is based on the practicality of living and walking out what God has told us to DO. “DO” is not a bad word when our doing flows from our being. We are responsible for hearing the Lord and obeying His commands given to us.
He supplies us with faith which proves itself to be tangible and moves us along on this journey with God. Faith is likened to a conveyor belt that we step upon in obedience and submission to the Heavenly Father.
It is that which moves us along and advances us to continuing positions in His plan for our lives, our destiny in these Kingdom days. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Jesus is maturing us into sons and daughters who look inside themselves unto their King, trusting His anointing to lead and guide them in these Kingdom days. The church at large has perpetuated a helpless dependent people who do not trust their ability to hear God, let alone follow His voice into the frontiers of faith that have always been in front of us.
Step out in trust and confidence that God will sustain you in all ways and in all things that are initiated by heaven’s command.
ADVANCE and GO forth!
Each person has a destiny and a purpose in Christ. How many times do we have to be told this until we disregard our fears and step forth by faith into Him…………the eternal Word of Faith who holds our destiny in His hands………..
Allow Him to bring that ‘word of faith’; that “RHEMA” word within you that lines up with His Kingdom desires for you to fruition in your life! Do not stand on the sidelines gleaning from what others are doing and where others are going. Step forth into His plans and purposes for your life for the Kingdom of God is within you.
What has God told you in the Secret Place? Allow Him to expand that vision within you and give you the necessary steps to carry it forth and bring its’ manifestations into reality. Let the demonstration of the power of God’s Kingdom be alive in you wherever you stand, wherever you walk, wherever you are………the Kingdom of God is within you!
GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT! Luke 9:10-11
And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.
Many will gather around Jesus in the coming days – in fact, NOW, right NOW, the fields are white for harvest. All one has to do is to open our eyes to SEE and to open our ears to HEAR with His Kingdom perspective. Having done that, open your mouth and SPEAK, declaring “The Kingdom is NOW!”
What will you do when they come to you? Right where you are – on your job, in your school, to your home, on a plane – what will you do? The possibilities are endless as to how, where and when God draws those to Him.
God is stirring something to burst in the heart of man everywhere to seek that which is greater than himself. They seek Jesus; only many do not know it and must be properly presented to this King of Glory. What will you do when they come to YOU?
WELL, ENOUGH SAID……. Luke 9:12-13
When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.” But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”
Jesus says it quite simply………..”You give them something to eat!”
A sure example of God’s desire to move corporately through His people all over the face of this planet. A sure corporate anointing flowing from each of us. We see Jesus directing His disciples to draw on what He was feeding them so that they may, in turn feed others. He says the same thing to each of us today.
“You give them something to eat!”
Everyone allowing the Spirit of God to direct them into the perfect positioning of the flow of Holy Spirit through you – to look inside themselves, Christ in them, the hope of glory. Look at the provision He has placed within you to feed the nations. He has placed Himself within you, within me, within us – the diverse unique corporate expression of Jesus Christ – not waiting for someone else to release the anointing. You do it!
1 John 2:20-21
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
See the flow of this corporate anointing in Christ Jesus to flow by Holy Spirit through you. This wonderful anointing – resting on, residing in, and rising up from His people.
But He said to them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people.”
What is in YOU hardly looks sufficient to feed the multitudes, but it is……….
But the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
For heaven to open, to align with earth, we need only apply a clear kingdom principle that we see here. Place a supernatural demand by faith on what is already inside of you!
2 Corinthians 4:7-8
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
Place a demand upon the anointing in you – not commanding God but placing a demand based upon fire and desire to know Him and to flow with Him through your life!
For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.” 15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
Listen to Jesus’ response. Follow His directives carefully and completely not neglecting anything or allowing for presumption to filter in based upon our own wisdom. There is power flowing from obedience and perfect submission to the perfect RHEMA word of God!
Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Enter into the miraculous of what is already poured forth from heaven.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Can you see it? The rhema word spoken by Jesus procures a faith to respond by grace, entering into the supernatural, the miraculous, the Kingdom.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Jesus says “Give them something to eat!” Does He not speak from what is already established in heaven? Enter in…….only believe and see the kingdom of God in your midst. It is time……NOW!
Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
There is more than enough for all of us………..enter in!
JESUS CHRIST said, “I AM THE WAY!”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus is the way – the Living Word, a sure path under our feet. In walking in Him for He is the WAY, we draw close to the Father. It is Jesus Himself who consistently reminds us in the book of John that He was sent to lead people to a revelation of the Father, often saying that if we see Him, we see the Father.
Many enter into the WAY of being born again through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. But, this, unfortunately is where they begin and where they end, never really walking forward into a full measure of their glorious salvation.
This word is active and alive and a NOW word for us – He is the WAY upon which we walk day by day to draw closer to the Father and His eternal destiny for each of our lives. So many times we relegate Scripture to the future with a hope that it will be established in our lives, or to the past, looking at what God did.
But God is a NOW God and a clear interpretation of Scripture leads us into a Kingdom revelation that He is alive and active NOW to bring us step by step into greater measures of faith and greater realms of glory. Keep walking with Him and in Him!
We are destined to walk in Christ along the WAY of His choosing for each of us. This WAY is destined to draw us into greater fellowship and intimacy, not necessarily greater ministry opportunities. The WAY first instructs us to BE and from that revelation, we branch out to DO with our Lord.
Apostle Paul cries out in Philippians 3:10….
….that I may KNOW Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.
There is a knowledge gained in walking on the WAY with the WAY….a knowledge that surpasses all understanding and rises above our natural wisdom. It is knowing Him…..for He is the path under our feet, the illumination of our lives and its eternal purpose. While we walk and talk with Him, He shall expound Himself to us much like He did to the disciples on the Road to Emmaus.
And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
This word ‘expound’ means to ‘explain thoroughly; to unfold the meaning of what is said; to interpret fully’. He expounded Himself on the WAY that He set for these disciples. The Living Word expounded Himself and the end result was……..
And they said to one another, “Did not our hearts burn within us, while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened Scriptures to us?”
They were on the WAY to Emmaus…………walking with the WAY on His WAY.
It is quite obvious as we look at Scripture that much time was spent with the Lord walking and talking. There were no high speed internet connections in those days, no cars, no trains, etc. etc. There was just the road to be walked on – a WAY to get people to their destination. And in walking there was much time for reflection and fellowship such as it was with Jesus and His disciples.
Jesus was in no hurry to get places for He was totally focused on the Father at all times and knew with each step where He was going, led by Holy Spirit in all ways. In walking, they conversed with each other and gained an intimate knowledge over time of their Lord and Savior.
We must begin to walk again with our Lord on the WAY, His WAY……not our way. For in walking on His WAY, we gain so much in just being with Him, sharing the depths of His heart and burning to know the mysteries of His kingdom.
So today, I would challenge each of you to take a deep breath, and just walk with Him…walk with Him in the intimate quiet times where He leads you in His way in Scripture – where He wants you to read and gain revelation. Walk with Him in worship as you focus on His face and He takes you into greater measures of His glory……….
We need to start walking and stop talking but listen to the full intent of our Savior’s heart. Let Him expound Himself to each of us. Be careful, for often time you may be so busy that when you come into His presence you feel rushed to get an answer, a direction, etc.
Thank God He is changing that in me and that I am learning to walk again, to talk with Him and to sense His presence in newness and freshness so that we may be prepared for future times that are pressing upon us with such intensity.
The WAY shall lead us into TRUTH and that TRUTH shall set us free to live an abundant life, here and NOW.
Thrust: to push forcibly; to put boldly forth or impose acceptance of; to push against something; the main point, purpose, or essence of an organized military attack
This word “THRUST” is resonating in my spirit this morning……..resonating with the clarity of a kingdom call to advance and to go forth into a new dimension, new purpose.
There is a negative aspect of the word thrust when the force going forward comes from our own wisdom, our own ability or in our own strength.
The positive aspect of the word thrust is allowing God to work His power and strength in a forward momentum in our lives. A life indeed fueled by passion and purpose in these Kingdom days that are upon us, flowing from us and through us.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
The Kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force, thrusting forth into the darkness on the offensive to take what rightfully belongs to us for the advancement of the Kingdom. To thrust forth we push forcibly in the power of the Holy Spirit in God’s strength to advance.
This is not a strength of our will or our power but a strength that comes from sitting at the feet of Jesus, getting His strategy and His directive.
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
To prevail means to be victorious…the gates of hell shall not prevail against a church that is being thrust forth by the power of God’s perfect timing and will for each of our lives, ministries, etc. I am not advocating in any measure that we are to simply go of our own volition and our own will.
We are to be sent by the power and grace of our King…..sent with His agenda and purpose in these days. It is not a day to just sit back and revel in past accomplishments or to sit and hope for things to happen in the future…..it is a time to advance in the power and strength of our King.
To thrust forward gives us God’s focus to strike in a predetermined direction or strategy against the gates of hell advancing the Kingdom of God.
